Privacy Policy

In short

Synti Aura is a Synti Labs project. This page is written in plain language and honestly describes what happens to your data.

The app runs on your computer. There's no account to create, so we don't have your profile or a copy of your work. The only thing that actually leaves your machine is what you send to the model you choose. And which one to choose is up to you.

What the app stores, and where

Everything the app creates lives in a folder in your home directory: conversations, task results, settings, and credentials for anything you've connected. Credentials are encrypted on disk. Delete the folder and you delete the data — there's no other copy for us to clean up.

Model provider

The assistant needs a model to think with. Everything you send it — prompts, plus file contents, page text, or data it needs to do the work — goes to the provider you connected and is processed under their privacy terms, not ours. That's how any tool of this kind works.

You choose the provider, separately for each workspace. You can also do the opposite — point the app at a model running on your own machine, in which case nothing leaves at all.

This website

aura.synti.co is mostly a static page. To understand traffic, we use Google Analytics: it sets analytics cookies and sends technical visit data (such as IP address and user agent) to Google, which processes it under its own privacy policy. We don't set advertising cookies, we don't add any other third-party trackers, and we serve fonts from our own server rather than a font CDN. Your chosen language and theme are stored in the browser's local storage and never transmitted anywhere.

Downloads and updates

Installers and update checks go through our update host. Like any web server, it processes technical request data — IP address, timestamp, which file was requested, user agent — because the file can't be served without it. We don't use these logs to build a profile of you.

When you share a conversation

Sharing doesn't happen unless you use it yourself. Every published conversation is always protected by a PIN and stored encrypted: it's encrypted with that PIN on your device — before upload — so even we don't have the key and can't see its contents. Without the PIN, the link is useless. The conversation gets an address that can't be guessed; only someone with both the link and the PIN can read the page. Attachments, local file paths, and workspace settings are not published. Stop sharing, and the page is deleted.

Reread the conversation before publishing it. Anything visible in the transcript — including keys and passwords, if they ended up there — will be seen by anyone you give the link and PIN to.

Other services

The Discord and donation links lead to other companies' services, which run under their own terms and privacy policies. Likewise, anything you connect to the app — email, a repository, a database — is governed by that service's own terms.

Children

The app isn't intended for children, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top will change too. We'll announce significant changes in our Discord.
